The OEM part number is cast into the back of the alloy rim. It will look something like 5JA071496C FL8

 

The last three digits is the colour code. So in the example above, FL8 is the colour code. FL8 is metallic black.

 

All the possible colour codes might be cast into the back of the alloy rim. This is so that the manufacturer only has to make one casting.

The Diamond cut is alloy with a Lacquer coating.

Look for a matching silver on a paint rack in halfords or motor factors, or get some Silver Nail Varnish and do an invisible repair. You can even use clear nail varnish as a quick protective coat.

Choices of nail varnishes can be very good for getting colour matches for quick repairs to stop corrosion until you do permanent repairs of wheels, paint chips etc.

You can get a few colours at a £1 a pop and then removing to use prepare and use paint is dead easy.
