Amundsen playing double CD in the wrong track order

Featured Replies

Hi All

I'm after some help.  I have music on the SD card.  A lot of my music is double CD albums, trance mixes etc.  When choosing an album to play via the touch screen where it shows the album art the player then plays the tracks in the incorrect order.  E.g. track 1 from CD1, then track 1 from CD 2, then track 2 from CD followed by track 2 from CD1 etc etc.  If I choose then music from the source using the folder selection then it will play the tracks in order in that folder.

So the music is taged under one album name e.g. Absolute Euphoria.  Each track is tagged with a track number and a disc number from that album i.e. track 2/16 disc number 1/2.

Each CDs track is in it own folder.  So that path would be        Absolute Euphoria /Absolute Euphoria CD /1/01 Moby - First Cool Hive.flac

So aside from naming each Cd as its own album name e.g  Absolute Euphoria Disc 1 etc

Is there something I'm missing?  I don't have any problems with the tracks playing in order on my pc as various programs like Music Monkey, Music Bee and Windows Media Player all recognise the disc number tag.  Does Amundsen need a software update?  Would a newer software version be better at reading tags?

My Software is

Device Part 5Q0035874A

Hardware H24

Software 0241

Can anyone point out what I'm missing/doing wrong?

Thanks

I normally put all tracks in to the root of the album name and ensure that their name begins 101, 102 - 201,203 etc. Then I make sure their playlist tag follows with 1/60, 2/60.

A good mp3 editor can soon sort this for you.

Whenever I rip multi CD albums I always use an MP3 editor to renumber the tracks from CD2 onwards so they follow on from each other, then I make sure all the CDs have the same album name WITHOUT a CD number.

So if CD1 has 16 tracks then track 1 of CD2 I renumber to track 17, etc.

Works even for 5 CD albums, yes it takes a few minutes but it only has to be one once.

It's all about the naming and the CD ripping software. The media player plays tracks alphabetically. Even an extra space in one of the names will change the order of play.

I use Fairstars CD Ripper and this has options to name each track, eg. <artist>\<album>\<number>. <title>, which will create folders for the artist and the album and put the track number in front of the track name eg. 01 - track name.

It can also query a database for the CD info and get the correct name for each CD.

So far I have found 1 of my CDs that isn't in the database.

Good luck
