Full size spare.

Featured Replies

Have had a search, but not come up with Octavia.

I would think people have put a full size spare in their car.

I have a space saver, but want a full size, because i tow i dont to be stuck at 50mph.

Full size would be 225x50x17. 7J.

Octavia mk3 Estate Scout.

Will it fit ok?

My understanding is that:

  1. The floor cover will be raised slightly, approximately 2-3cm. You could compensate for this by adding something around the edges of the cover
  2. You have to butcher the foam insert a bit to get it to sit in the wheel

Hi D, thanks. I have a twin floor so that shouldn't be a problem. Ye, didn't think about tool insert till I'd posted.

Twin floor would be good to hide it, but I guess it doesn't leave you much room between the floor cover and the false floor

This person seems to have got a size that is flat, but VRS need bigger wheels anyway to go over the brake calipers - Full Size Spare Fits in the Wheel Well............ - Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 onward) - BRISKODA

If you were using a space saver, would you not just go and get a new tyre fitted anyway? Generally they work quite well to get you to the nearest tyre shop.

That's my old 18" Gemini that Andy (Auric G) was putting in his spare wheel well.  It fitted in mine with a 225/40/18 Bridgestone S001a tyre on it, and wasn't visibly pronounced.  Passed on to Andy after I traded the vRS in, putting the space saver kit back in it.

Hi D, good link.

Distance between floors 13cm yes cm.

Bit more hassle finding a tyre place with a caravan.
