"eshop skoda cz" lists many of the OEM Skoda alloy rims. However, they don't give a weight for the Alaris, Golus, Pictoris, or Turini 18" alloy rims.

 

Where weights are given for 18" alloy rims for the Octavia MK3, these are  between 11.3kg and 13.5kg.

7.5J x 18" alloys plus 225/40R18 tyre I weighed on my Mk3 Octavia was 22.5kg. Guess tyre was about 10kg of the total.

According to this site,  The outer rim will poke out 7-8mm  more than before. compared to my 16" .

One friend of mine , has 225/40/18 rs replica rims , 8" , 45 offset  and seems nice.

Replacing a 6.5J rim with an 8J rim means that you are increasing the rim width by 1.5" (38.1mm), which works out at 19.05mm each side.

 

Changing the offset from ET46 to ET45 moves the centre of the rim outwards by 1mm.

 

Therefore, adding the two together (19.05mm+1mm) means that the rim will stick out 20.05mm more than before.

 

8J is unnecessarily wide for a 225/40 tyre. 7.5J is plenty, which is what most of the OEM 18" Skoda Octavia MK3 rims use along with an ET51 offset (Scout models use a little less offset than this).

 

Comparing a 7.5Jx18 ET51 rim with an 8Jx18 ET45 rim, results in the 8Jx18 ET45 rim sticking out by 12.35mm more than the 7.5Jx18 ET51 rim.

 

What you choose could depend on whether or not you like sticky out rims, and whether you like the sides of your car coated in mud every time you drive down a dirty road.
