Idle rpm's

Featured Replies

Hi guys,new to this site

Last week i bought a 2012 octavia VRS (blackline edition)...love the car but ive noticed when ive 45miles+ left in the tank the car idles at around about 1000rpm...however,when theres 40miles or less in the tank it idles at 750rpm...

Was just wondering if anyone would know whats causing this?

Thanks

Chris

Diesel engine?

Yes 2.0 diesel engine

The idle speed should be +/- 850 rpm, difficult to see the difference as the dial marking is at 800rpm but 1000rpm is usually during a DPF regeneration.

Im nearly sure this is not a regen...as i say when theres 45+ miles in the tank it always idles at 1000..when theres 40miles and less in the tank it idles normal at 750/800...defo not the regen

Regens are programmed not to start if the tank level is low...
