Emissions update checker!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I've just entered the chassis number from my mk 2 Octavia  2.0 Cr 170 TDI vrs into the emission checker on skodas website and it's saying my vehicle is unaffected!!! Does this mean the update has been done or like it says! It's not effected?? I don't want the update but was under the impression all the 2.0 Cr tdis  170s were effected, thanks for any help with this

A 2012 CR170 is definitely effected :)

The most reliable way to confirm if the update has been done is to check the software version of the ECU using VCDS or similar. You can also check the boot well for a 23R7 sticker as that'll show the fix has been done.

Last time I checked a car, the Skoda website made it clear that the 'update had already been done' or similar message.

Hi, thanks for the replies, just dropped car off at the stealers as I've an intermittent EML coming on, the lad said it Dsnt look like it's been updated, obviously I don't want it done, I've always stated that when took to Skoda dealers , it's just when I've used the official checker it's saying my car wsnt affected when I'm 99.9 certain it was, anyways wish me luck 😂😂😂

Thanks for reply, yeah thought all the Cr 170s were affected! Very strange how the websites saying it's not, I've not got access to vdcs so I'll have a look for the sticker in the boot thanks, other than that I'll see what the dealer says when I get it back as I've asked them to double check👌 thanks agin for the help 👍🏻

Erm, I think you've misread or mistyped your VIN.

At a guess, the second 2 is actually a Z... ;)
