  1. Sometime referred to as a brake fitting kit. I've found Pagid to be brilliant quality in the past.
  2. Mercedes drivers will be jealous....it's from a real animal and you've proof !!
  3. Was in more interesting that Tolstoys War And Peace??
  4. Takes me back. A teacher at my upper school had a black one of those. We all thought it was so cool.
  5. Some cars you just don't gel with. On paper, it's all you want, but in the flesh it just doesn't do it for you. it happens sometimes. I reckon if you can move it on without getting hit financialy, then find something you do like. If you can stay finance free, all the better.
  6. 100% you should. I once purchased a Mazda 6 approved used. Like you, on the test drive, I was a bit concerned about the seat. Went ahead and bought the car, thinking it must just be me. Well, it wasn't. By the time I'd driven the car 50 miles, I realised I'd made a big mistake. The seats gave me serious back ache and I have been very careful when buying a car ever since. So yeah, get yourself a 24hr test drive if you can. I wish I had. Fortunately I was able to move the Mazda on swiftly and only lost a very small amount of money.
  7. I subscribe to his Youtube channel, a bit of a Bob Flavin fan! All his reviews are very watchable indeed. He does van reviews too.
  8. Welcome to the forum Rodus. Disturbing moths is something I try to avoid at all times!! Lots of Octi info on the relevant forums for you to have a read of, and post any questions you may have.
  9. 101% agreed. I read an AutoExpress mag the other day with a car group test, and they now dedicate and entire page to comparing the infotainment systems! For flips sake, its a car with oily bits, not a gadget ! Ergonomics are taking big steps backwards.
  10. Hi Andrew, As I'm aware the warranty regarding the fix was limited to 2 yrs as part of their trust building measure (TBM). I suspect your car was updated more recently than you think. Skoda should be able to tell you when they did the work. There may be a sticker in the boot or engine bay too. I don't think you can get the fix removed, but I may be wrong. When I last looked into buying a car that was affected and did some research, the fix was permanent. Others may know more.
  11. Good post. I agree, there is just far too much tech in cars. Knobs, buttons, dials, switches and levers have worked since the car was invented. They work because they are tactile, we know what we are touching. A flat panel doesn't replace any of them. Call me jaded, but cars have not moved very far forward in real terms in the last 15yrs or so. Tech is being thrown at them in an attempt to sell something new. People like to buy new, and it looks 'modern'. Not fit for purpose from a safety perspective IMHO and I have major reservations about longevity and reliability.
  12. Looks like there are a few non-franchise options in your area. https://www.google.co.uk/search?source=hp&ei=uptPYOmiD9KKatK5tOAF&iflsig=AINFCbYAAAAAYE-pyluX5JfP8IIVrubhc-Gdgq5N3Qgf&q=cumbria+skoda+specialist&oq=cumbria+skoda+spe&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAEYAjIFCCEQoAEyBQghEKABMgUIIRCgAToOCC4QsQMQxwEQowIQkwI6CAgAELEDEIMBOg4ILhCxAxCDARDHARCjAjoLCC4QsQMQxwEQowI6AggAOgUIABCxAzoICC4QsQMQkwI6AgguOggILhDHARCvAToFCC4QsQM6BQgAEMkDOgYIABAWEB5QnQlYwTBgwjxoAXAAeACAAWGIAYULkgECMTiYAQCgAQGqAQdnd3Mtd2l6&sclient=gws-wiz
  13. I have used Bosch plugs for years, and did so when I replaced the plugs on our VRS. I've had great experience with CarParts4less (same co as Euros) usualy a bit cheaper and the delivery is speedy. Try them and price up Bosch. It's what I would do.
  14. The garage are clearly saying they don't want to do the job. Either that, or they only buy solid gold cam locking tools! I would google about for a VW specialist garage in your area and give them a call. That said though, any competent garage should be able to do the cambelt and water pump for you.
  15. Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your new motor. You've done right by it with your cleaning equipment! Sorry to hear of your old estate. Hit and run drivers....grrr..
