Morning,

 

So done my first commute this morning and I noticed that there is a crackling sound/distorted noise every so often (may be every min or so) while I was listening to my audible book on AppleCar play.

 

Has anybody experienced something similar?

Haven't noticed anything (yet). A short drive listening to Spotify through CarPlay was absolutely fine; and 1/2hr of using Waze through it was also fine (albeit spoken directions are relatively few and far between compared to an audio book).

 

Was the audio book local to your device or streamed?

It is downloaded locally. If noone as experienced that, it might be something with the book. I will have to try other ones to see if it is happening again.

Interestingly the courtesy car I was given as the same first rev of HW and same SW version but I don't get any crackling sound so there must be an issue somewhere. Hopefully, they will identify it.

 

I just spent about an hour in mine, CarPlay & Spotify streaming - no crackle or interference. Was pleased with the sound quality too.

Yes same problem with Spotify, Apple Music and magic Radio app if I pause it and play on steering wheel it stops for 90 secs then comes back

Hello - I have exactly the same issue in my 2020 Fabia MKIII estate. I have seen some posts online indicating the issue is due to the new iOs update. I understand there is a software update for the head unit available. I have booked in to the dealer at the end of the month to update which should hopefully fix the issue

Update: I had the “Head unit software” updated from “8742” to “8755” at my local dealer. Crackling and skipping now resolved
