Rear door stuck door remove destroyed mechanism

Featured Replies

Hello, my rear door has been stuck for ages now and I tried all the tricks in the book with no success. My last resort was to rip open the door panel and try to open in from the inside. After doing so and having no success with the lock mechanism I started ripping it to bits. Now that all the plastic is off I reached the deadbolt and as it is all metal I am having a hard time removing it and opening the door.

Any suggestions?

jaysus you went to town on that...

what were the symptoms before taking a sledgehammer to it? and what did you try?

That has been taught a lesson that it wont forget in a hurry!!!

I know it's bad but this was my last option. Perhaps I should have spent more time fiddling with the mechanism.

The mai problem was that the door wouldn't open from the outside and nor the inside as the cable broke. So with no other option I went to town it it.

but was it getting power? could you hear the motor trying, or was it fully dead?

did you try putting 12v directly to the motor?

dude, you even bent the door frame :(

Holy crap. I made a guide to get the door open!

20 min job and the door should open.

The guide works the same as all the doors. Simply cutting into the door model shows the cog that you turn.

Take a breather, sit back and take a look and see how it all works instead of not thinking and going to town on the door. As 10 minutes of searching would’ve helped you a lot. That’s why we are here after all!

Now you’re going to need a new lock, and possibly a new door, depending on how much damage you’ve done as you want it to seal correctly when shut in order to stop rain water.
