Pssst! Want a Nice Yeti....?

Featured Replies

Well, today was definitely a day of mixed emotions....

It was time to say goodbye to TIBET III, the third of my CR170 Yetis, TIBET I having been possibly the first CR170 to be ordered in the UK and I took delivery in December 2009.

Following a change of jobs three years ago, a reasonable (for a diesel) commute was going to be a 4.5 mile commute so I bought a great little Citigo Monte Carlo for the commute and kept the Yeti for the longer trips. This was always going to be a temporary option as it didn't make much sense to run two cars - apart from my in built mechanical sympathy!

I briefly looked at the possibilities of an Enyaq but the reduction in the government EV grant forced me back to Plan A - a Superb iV Sportline Plus. So, whilst the sorrow of seeing the Yeti (and Citigo) departing on a trailer in part exchange, I have now a beautiful Superb iV to learn all about. And there's a lot to learn!

Now, if anyone want a brilliant, high spec Yeti (or a very nice Citigo!), best you get in touch with Caffyns Skoda at Tunbridge Wells. I doubt the will have it on the forecourt as it's 7 years old and completed a tad under 90k miles. As an L&K it has all the standard toys plus various other factory options and a Shark STS remap. Nothing has ever gone wrong with it (well, only an intermittent and untrue reversing light fail indication fail due to the LED bulbs), it averaged 47 mpg driven sensibly.

Have fun, everyone with your Yetis, it is a truly brilliant piece of design and if they'd been an electric version, I would have had one in a heartbeat! Lots of good gen on this section of Briskoda - everyone's help and assistance has been really appreciated over the years.

Mixed emotions indeed, aerofurb.  Sad to see another one of the original trail-blazing members leave us, but I'm sure you'll have fun with all the latest tech in the hybrid Superb.  I wonder how many Bronze Yetis there are left?

Be safe...

Definitely, Terracotta Bronze is one of those colours (quite common with Skodas!) that really comes to life in differing lights and is unfortunately, a victim of its own scarcity. I really like it too.

I hope TIBET's new owner finds their way here (the Briskoda sticker is/was still on the rear window). Keep waving the bronze Yeti flag, Brijo!

How did you get on with the Yeti clutch after the remap? Any issues? I have a 2013 170 with 51k on the clock, well looked after by the previous owner. Do you think I'll have any clutch problems with a Racingline/Shark flash?

Mine's boring grey though, sorry.
