2011 Octavia VRS petrol, manual,  (facelift) 

 

Recently retrofitted a maxidot cluster and MFSW. I've noticed I've not got all the menus on the maxidot such as lights & visions etc. From some searching I believe this to be due to the convenience control module otherwise known as the body control module. Is this right? Also what is the part number for the correct high line module and is it a simple retrofit?

 

I've got VCDS but still a newbie with it.

Your BCM is already a highline so there should be no need to replace it

 

I would try ticking:

- 09 BCM, byte 9, bit 3

 

It should be 'Multi-Function-Display/Board Computer via Operation and Display Protocol (BAP) active' looking at my notes.

 

While your connected, I'd would also suggest:

- 19 CAN gateway, installation list, remove A6 Microphone

- Clear all DTC's

 

Hopefully that'll just leave the alarm siren and the radio (DAB, mic, aux in) fault codes present.

Ok that's interesting haha. Thanks for your help. I know about the fault codes and i'm not fussed as everything works haha.

Yup, the mic will still work with A6 removed.

 

Basically some cars have a separate module for the mic. The MK2 Octavia doesn't as the mic is either connected to the BT module or radio. This might also be the reason for the mic open circuit code you have

 

Removing A6 from the installation list should resolve the 'cannot be reached' errors shown in your scan.

Might need further assistance in the future to get the coming home lights working as I don't have the auto lights but so far so good. Never intended to make this a project car but now I can't stop haha
