VRS Won't Start Up First Time

Featured Replies

Hi guys, so I have just purchased a 2011 Octavia VRS 2.0 TFSi.

Full service history direct from skoda!

Currently had 87k miles.

Car is immaculate right through.

Bare with me its a long post to explain fully the issue!

Went and collected the car with no issues.

Drove over two hours home with no issues at all. Pulled on the drive and that's was that. Went out this morning and it wouldn't start. Took about 15 - 20 attempts and finally fired up with engine management light on dash and ESP warning on display but car still drove perfectly fine. Drove around 10 mile with no issues at all. Turned the car off and tried again with no issues and management light has now gone!

Wen in house thinking all is fine until an hour later and same happened again! Had a search online and found most results being a battery issue! Quick pop to local garage found the current battery only rated 64Ah and Currently only has 584ah output.

So new Bosch 72ah battery bought and put on thinking this would be the solution only for it to be exactly the same.

Onto the computer it was and brought up a load of codes, some nothing at all to do with the issue in hand. All codes cleared and still the same, 10 - 15 times to fire up.

Drove home and a good friend that works in a performance garage brought his computer and brought up Knock Sensor and Boost Sensor issue.

He said that would not likley cause this issue I'm having! After an hour of investigation he has come to the conclusion it could be Fuel Pump Module or Crank Sensor that could be at fault!

Any more help and info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
