Touchscreen

Featured Replies

Anyone know where I can get a decent 7″ or 8″ touchscreen monitor for the car? I'd like the Xenarc 700TSV but I can't find anywhere in the UK that's selling them.

Ideally I'd prefer not to order from overseas with added duty etc.

what exactly do you want? an indash automated one, in dash manual one, one that will just sit on the dash or something else?

what do you want it to control then, an incar PC?

Cheers, Tried linitx, that's the only place I can really find anything, but not too keen on the own-brand generics of their screens. Just looking for options really.

I want a standalone one that will plug into an in-car PC, with USB for the touchscreen.

I second LinITX. They are a fantastic outfit to deal with with an after service second to none.

They are a good bunch - also, see http://mp3carisma.com/main.php?id=linitx7screen for a comparative review of their screen against a Xenarc.

Looks like I'm gonna have to see if I can fit one of the LinITX 8&8243; screens in the car then. Then sell some Kidneys to get the rest :)

Cheers for all the help.

We deal in PC's at work.

We have just got in some 'PC Boxes', they are about the size of a small shoe-box, have loads of connectivity (RS232, USB, Compact flash).

But the best this about them, as far as cars are concerned, they run on 12V DC.

We have only just got the first sample in this week, so it will not be on our website yet.

As soon as I know some more, ie price, I will post here.

i bought my last xenarc from a digitalww in the US. He has got some in this country at the moment (actually located in bristol, I picked mine up on a trip down there) so no fees etc.

Try here for more info:

Are the pc boxes you have got from epia, seem to remember a few months ago they bought out a new one with 12vdc in. Make sure you get a dc dc convertor though so it always gets exactly 12v, may go wrong otherwise...

Good luck with you in car pc, love mine to bits!
