vRS coil packs..

Featured Replies

Took the engine cover off today and noticed the top of this coil pack is a bit manky..

Some questions..

Does it look like it could do with replacing?

If so, is there any benefits to upgrading all 4?

If so, what do we upgrade with?

Thanks chaps :)

Drop into Skoda and ask them to check your reg and see if the recall on the coil packs have been done.

As for replacing them all, I’d stick to OEM and they’re quite expensive being £30+ each. Probably be worth doing it if they’ve never been done and keep the old ones in the boot.

Local Skoda say no outstanding recalls..

Any idea who makes OEM?

My guess would be Delphi or Bosch...

I can’t remember, but I’d only buy genuine from TPS/Skoda if I’m honest. Never had an issue.

TPS Ipswich won't deal as we're not traders.

Used to pop in to Ipswich VW for parts and they'd walk 50yds to TPS.

Infuriating.

?

When were the spark plugs last replaced?

Maybe new coils will be needed by the time you get them out and new plugs.

No clue.. We've only had the car a couple of weeks..

They'll be changed in the next few weeks though..
