Hello, Im new to the foum and recently purchased my Superb laurin klement. 

 

Ive noticed while driving that the temperature gauge hardlies moves off the bottom even after driving for a period time it only moves a little. 

 

Anyone know what this could be?

Does the heater give out plenty of heat after 4 or 5 miles from cold ?

Yeah it heats up no bother 

It's probably either the gauge itself or the coolant temperature sender then.

 

You will need either a test meter to check the coolant temperature sensor resistance, or VCDS/ other diagnostic tool to check.

Is it a diesel and DSG?. Although your behaviour does not match what happens when the DSG stat goes, don’t rule it might be that or the main thermostat. 

Is it DSG ? mine did the same ,changed the DSG thermo now it runs at the correct temp ,its a cheap fix if its that as well !
