i have just picked a 2018 vRS 245 with black pack and noticed the mirrors do not have puddle lights. Is there a way to add them after market?

Yes, but it requires additional wiring and a new mirror base (easy to obtain).  Speak with @SashaGracewho can give you the details.

2 ways to do it; either new mirror base and tap into the door light feed or replace the door controllers for Highline ones and add the wiring and code. If you are going to that trouble though, may as well go the whole hog and do the folding mirrors as they all come with puddle lights.
