Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2012 Skoda fabia vrs 1.4, electric windows inop, main dealer have diagnosed on two occasions replaced door modules and body control module door looms checked and ok, issue still occurring has anyone any ideas? Thanks :)

Surely the work done by the dealer is warranted ?

there is nothing else to the system.

Who checked the door looms ?

Drivers wiring replaced was part warranty checked and all other checks Iv had to pay for so around £600 for a fault that ain’t fixed, they have checked all and only other thing is wiring but where do you start, also battery keeps going flat if vehicle left over 7 hours any ideas pal?

Heard of batteries going flat due to wiring issues, where the battery just gets drained. Might be faulty earth lead or wires from battery to other bits and bobs. I assume you know the battery is sound, though? That said, it sounds like electrical drain, somewhere. Does the fan stay on at all and not turn off? Is there any sign of water ingress on any electrical circuitry? Unfortunately, its a bit of a landline, hit and miss situation.

The LED for the drivers window doesn’t light up but the passenger side does I wondered if it was an earth issue around that area, also yesterday noticed battery top fuses and plates corroded going to clean them up today and see what occurs lol! Yeah battery is   Brand new, no the fans don’t stay on at all, when ignition off should you still here a electronic beep from part in engine bay?

Not sure with the VRS but my TDI Greenline has a kind of shut down "Bzzz" Sort of thing happen, a few seconds  after turning off. Battery fuse corrosion not good as may cross-wire the system. I don't know of bulbs actually blowing in the switches but a replacement switch, even new from Skoda is not prohibitively expensive. Other, cheaper versions are available but be sure to get green, to match Skoda and not VW red, unless you plan a complete re-swap! I would perhaps buy a cheap eBay switch and try that.
