Squealing between 3rd and 4th (DSG)

Featured Replies

When accelerating a bit quicker than a standard drive I am getting a squeal between 3rd and 4th gear. I have tried finding a video with the same issue but I have found nothing.

Just wondering if this is an issue to keep an eye on or even get checked over?

I'll post a video clip when I get the chance as it's an odd noise.

Get it checked, pronto. Especially if the car is under warranty.

It could be a sign of something major going wrong.

Potential Dual Mass Flywheel failing....I assume your car has a DQ250 box, unless it has a 1.4tsi engine or smaller, in which case it will be a DQ200.

It’s a 1.4 tsi. Could this still be the potential issue? Would this be something easy to get analysed or would the box need removing?

Hi mate,

Booking this into a DSG specialist place hopefully next week. I’ll let you know what they find anything. 👍🏻
