How do you get the third brake light out?

I'm trying to get the third brake light out on my facelift Fabia III, and I've been trying to use a plastic wedge in the top middle and prying it out based on what I've read about the Citigo and the Polo, but it doesn't budge and I think I mangled the rubber seal!
 

Is there some trick to getting it out or does it just need a lot of force?
