Replacement Rear DCC Shock Absorber

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've been viewing the forum for a while and have eventually joined.

I've got a 2017 Sportline Combi 2.0 TDi 190.

Only had it a couple of months and my rear right DCC shock is leaking and I'll need to replace it.

I've had a look about on the web and the only ones I can see are Bilstein's.  There seems to be a big variance in price and they seem to be out of stock in a number of places.

Any recommendations on any other replacements or where to buy them?

Thanks.

Can’t Skoda supply the OE Monroe units? (Well they’re Monroe on our 2016 car). Bloody poor that one has failed after only 4 years in any event.

Hi Num,

I haven't tried the stealers yet.  I had the car in to an Indy I use for a DSG service and general service.  DSG was due.  The previous owner said it had just had a service but when I checked the air filter it hadn't been changed for a good while.  If the air filter hadn't been changed what was the chance of the oil and filter being changed.

The Indy said the shock was leaking and needs to be replaced.  They are getting me a price on Monday but I was just wondering of the Guru's on the forum may know of a better / cheaper option.

I've also got a 2011 VW CC with DCC.  The rear right shock went on it a couple of years back.  From memory VW wanted about €450 per shock back then.  For the CC I ended up getting a 2nd had one off Ebay.  The CC has been fine since then an went through the recent NCT (Ireland version of MOT) no problem.

Cheers.

Any body else know where to try for rear DCC shocks?

Well I learnt something new today.  Turns out that just because you have the mode driving button (Economy, Normal & Sport) it doesn't mean you have DCC shock absorbers.  Turns out my car is on normal shocks.  The good news.  Replacements are around €250  pair fitted rather than around €400 each.
