BXE Injector Wiring Replacement

Featured Replies

My trusty BXE has what I suspect to be an injector loom fault.

Is there a certain part I'd be better getting? "official" from Skoda? Anything I can find cheap? Looking around the replacement loom is around £40 from various places but nothing genuine...

How much of a pain is it to change?....

It's an easy job which I've covered on here previously.

The most tricky part of the operation was accessing the cam cover hex bolt under the EGR valve without a 1/4" wobble socket, I used a ball end allen key.

In all probability you can fix it by squeezing the female spade injector connectors for a better connection as they get loose over time with heat/vibration.

You can do this without removing the harness.

The plastic plugs on mine were very brittle so rather than open to access the female spade I simply inserted a fine screwdriver into the end of the plug and bent the connector to give it more grip.  Upon reconnecting the plug it may be quite tight so push gently with a slight side to side rocking motion, you want it to slide back on the injector pins with minimal deformation undoing your work and possibly breaking something.
