Reversing camera install advice

Featured Replies

My  new Scala came with rear camera fitted. It's one of the option packs  I didn't actually want it but the car was available at the time (April) with the other things I wanted such as front sensors, heated front screen, or wait until September for a new build.

Having driven vans for 12 years, I thought I knew how to reverse, "who needs a camera" but now I have it, it is useful There are 2 distance bars on the screen, the furthest, green, is perfect for giving me room to back up if I need to get out of a tight space or the car behind to get out. The nearest, red, is perfect for the end of space line in a car park.

Nice, glad for you.  The car I am looking at is 2022 but doesn't have the camera as standard so I am trying to find a fitting shop who could do it.. if possible.

Any guidance on price to have this fitted please?

The dealership and an independent garage have quoted me £600 where as the car sales garage that I may buy the car from has quoted me £250 but I suspect that figure will go up as he is currently wavering.

Nice one! That's not too far away from me.

I was able to get the garage selling me the car to fit the camera for £250, though they later said it actually cost them £400 as they had coding issues.

Now I have browsed that site I am tempted with the digital dashboard conversation!
