removing a battery from my felicia

Featured Replies

Hi again

having got over my problem with a fire in my car (see earlier thread) I now find that I need to replace the battery. Old battery is dedd so car will not move

An easy task ..but no _ I have the original skoda white cased battery in place and it appear the car is built around it. its too big to get out without removing bits of the engine!!

I was told to remove the vacuum pump to get more space (by local dealer when I phoned him) but there is a plate behind the main control unit that holds the pump in place

Its getting a bit scary (and dark) so... is there any easy way to remove the battery withour unscrewing / moving thingS?

thanks in advance for any help /advice

Hi

OK no one told me there was a lip at the bottom back of the battery and that you had to lift battery up and over this before it would come out!!

But the call out guy did and had the new battery in in less than 5 minutes (in the rain!!)

Just proves a point - get the experts in ( wish the Skoda dealer had told me though!!)

I'm sorry we couldn't help you earlier, but I'm glad you've managed to sort it. And hopefully someone else won't have to go through your pain now you posted this.
