Yep, it is a straight swap. dont know about cost though, I guess the airbag will be the biggest expense.

... I also 'parked' that idea a couple of months ago when BigK explained that I'd need a three spoke wheel airbag rather than the 4x4 4 spoke. You can pick up similar wheels and airbags separately, but I'm leaving it until next year !

But then mine was done as a factory option, so a completely different ball game in terms of cost...

Another possibilty.

I think its the same wheel as fitted to some models of mkiv golfs and audi A3's. It maybe possible to find one without an activated airbag at a local scrappy (you may even find a vRS one). All you would need then would be a skoda centre cap.

That's been my line of thinking.

Easy enough to get a Golf GTi MKIV 3 spoke 'back' for sensible money, but trickier to get the front part comprising the boss/airbag unless you want to pay a fair whack.

Unless a vRS owner (permanently!) upgrades the wheel and airbag for me !

i prefer the four spoke steering wheel rather than the 3spoke design of the vRS... just MHO.

I visited Virgin cars recently, looking for a new car for swmbo and slid into a Golf R32 Yummmmmmmmmmmmm!!! steering wheel is like something out of Michael schumachers cockpit, wonder if this is likely to fit a VRS?? getting hold of one is another thing!
