Fuel tank

Featured Replies

I have recently got a 2018 2.0 tsi sportline and was wondering if anyone knows what size the fuel tank is manual says it's a 66 litre I'm  thinking its more like 90 litre tank

Definitely won’t be 90 litres! That would cost like £130 to fill up

Just below half a tank the other day it was 51 litres £67 to fill it

All the Data / Reviews / Specs say 66 litres.  so 14 1/2 gallons.

Near 20 gallons would be quite a weight.

@Andyrobbwhat sort of MPG is the car showing, and have you never had the tank near empty and filled it.

EDIT.  Sorry posted as you did.

So the gauge was showing just under half.

Maybe there is the answer, take it down to near the reserve.

I put 66.59ltr in my 2019 1.5TSi sportline last week, fuel warning light was on. Range was claiming 40miles left

I will give that a try I did come from an octavia with a 50 litre tank and a diesel so try to adjust to petrol again  😉

I definitely have a 75 litre tank, it is an option in some markets over the standard 66 litres but not in the UK where its available for the Audi A6. For some reason I got it for free, maybe due to production shortages, I can't check the PR codes as there is no sticker in the spare wheel well. The PR code being 1Z2 iirc

I know it is 75 litres (nominal) as I have filled it to first click with 76 litres and 30 miles remaining. Also the range calculation ties in with fuel left divided by average mpg since refuelling closely. Ave mpg also ties in with my refill quantity closely each time.

I often get 900+ mile range reported when driving is mostly motorway.

I filled up with above, 57.79 litres to first click which for 719 miles is 56.6 mpg a 3 percent difference.

90L!!! :D

It's not a Landcruiser!!

as @xman said, some markets have the option to spec up the larger tank.

the PR code is 1Z2.

normal 66L tank is OM4.

if u c both codes, u have the larger tank.

the boot build sticker will not tell u this.

U need to use Erwin Skoda to get a vehicle specific report, to see every single PR code used to build ur car.

Hi JR,

My Sportline shows 1Z2, although it shows as "Increase in initial standard fuel filling".

Did all Australian Superb IIIs come with the bigger tank?

Actually, I'm not so sure there's a bigger tank.

I can't find different part numbers. There seems to be a couple of revisions, but the tank seems to be 3Q0201055Q.

3Q0201055Q

3Q0201055AP
3Q0201055CA

3Q0201055DD

All the above are the same part, just later revisions. The DD part is the one that's currently available.

Also used on a bunch of different VW's (Passat, Arteon)

If there was a different tank, you'd expect a part number for it.

I'm sure the definitive answer is on Erwin somewhere.

When I first got my Erwin spec sheet on my Superb, I interpreted "1z2 - Increase in initial standard fuel filling" to mean that they put more fuel in at the factory. I thought maybe because in oz there's potentially bigger distances between  ports, yards etc.

Happy to be proven wrong!

@Haystack1- yes my understanding is that all Oz Superbs get the "larger than 66L" tank.  not sure if its specific to an option pack though as i got mine with Tech and Comfort Packs.

in the 4+ years i've owned the car -i regularly put in 70L to 76L each time i fill up, with the range (to empty) showing between 30km to 0km, depending on how much i leave it.

its nothing to do with bigger distances/ports/yards etc etc.

i've seen a price listing for one of the european countries where it shows it (1Z2) as an option, and an associated price.  I think it was Polish.

Its an option for an Audi A6
