Which foam goes best in a hand foamer?

I got myself a marolex hand foamer, because I don't have a pressure washer, and I wanted something more fancy than the prewash at my local jet wash. 

I can't seem to get it to work properly though, I played with proportions but the foam is either too watery, and comes down almost immediately, or becomes too thick after a minute of spraying, and it's impossible to get it all over the car since it just drips from the nozzle.

I'm thinking I should purchase a different kind of foam? I've been using some turtle wax stuff purchased from halfords, which I believe is to be used in a pressure washer, although I purchased it because it smells nice 😌 but I can't work out the proportions? Or do I need a different type of foam?
