New Octavia Break

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am interested in purchasing the Octavia Break 1.0 TSi.
Does anyone know if I place an order now for 1 new car, have the software issues that affected several cars already been resolved?

I'm a little scared after reading several problems on this forum.

When Filipe speaks of a "Break" he means an "Estate" version of the vehicle.

I think that's the million dollar question... I got my vRS Estate at the end of April, and had only minor software glitches, the most prominent at the moment is the SOS system error... Other than than - quite happy with the car. I'd say that every new car will come with the latest updates of the software. Yet, being in the software business, I'd also say that every software update can fix something, but can also break something else, so it will always be a chance that something will not work properly.

I’m driving a 1.0 e-TEC SE First Edition Estate, covered about 5,000 miles in just under three months, totally trouble free. It was registered in January 2021 so probably not one of the early ones, though I don’t know the build date.

My own vehicle, a 1.5Tsi SE L First Edition, is awaiting the ‘the fix’. It was registered four months earlier with an estimated build date about June ‘20.

Seems to me that the earlier the build, and the higher the spec, the more likely problems will exist. But I assume it’s not yet clear exactly which dates and models are affected else Skoda would have a fix by now. Meanwhile, I live in hope - or cloud cuckoo land depending on your point of view! ;-)
