Any chance if I leave it will charge up just enough to get me going again?

..not on it's own (unless you have solar panels). You will need to put it on charge for an hour so depending on the battery condition.

NB How old is the battery and what sort of mileage have you been doing of late, (short trips will kill a battery as you need to do 8+ miles per trip to recharge it.

I have found that modern batteries work fine, but when they start to go they go quickly and without any warning. ie work fine one day and "dead" the next...

AA jumped started me - got it ticking over now for the next hour or so - yeah too many short journeys, school run and shopping etc

..get yourself a decent smart charger and plug it in occasionally if you are doing mainly short trips...

That's another mistake; you should charge it by driving at about 50mph for an hour so.
