Cruise Control not working

Featured Replies

Hi Gents,

so i've got a CC probilem in my Superb MK3, meaning I cannot activate it. CC is available under the same stalk as indicators and once Turning on CC, no light on dashboard appears and after pressing SET button still no luck with CC.

The funny part is that, when im changing CC mode into Speed limit mode (on the bottom of that lever, icon on dashboard appears and its working well.

Ive already checked under obd11 if all buttons under that lever have working signals - yes

Ive tried to change in long coding few positions (changing CC options), but no luck.

INFO:

my car has regular CC only (not ACC). I own that car only for 5 months and got this problem from the beginning.

Is it possible that lever is fauly wven though obd11 shows signals are working well? or i should look for that issue somewhere else?

Don't know about Skoda but on a VX(Opel) I owned CC wouldn't work unless the brakes had been operated once.

not sure if i follow your answer...you mean that CC wont start until you press break pedal?

Are you sure you don't have ACC, AKAIK you only get the secondary cruise control stalk, with speed limiter if its ACC, normal CC has buttons on the wiper stalk!

Do you also have lane assist and does that work?

If so, the camera for ACC may need calibrating.

On the Vauxhall the car needed to test the brake switch was working before allowing CC use as using the brake is what disconnected the CC.

Use obd11 to check the brake pedal sensor and if you have a clutch pedal sensor

well, im not 100% sure, however from what i can see at lever, there's no distance set up option on the graphic pictograms, therefore i assumed its a regular CC not ACC.

FYI - camera seems to work well, as sign recognition is working.

1 more thing which may be connected with that issue (but not sure).

I remember that after purchasing a car I coded Lane assist option via OBD11 tool. Before that i wasnt testing if CC is working.

below is the coding i've used:

STG 17 > Codierung > Byte 4 > Bit 6 - aktivieren ("Spurhalteassistent/Lane Assist aktivieren")
STG 17 > Codierung > Byte 11 > Bit 1 - aktivieren ("Spurhalteassistent/Lane Assist Information BAP verbaut aktivieren")
STG A5 > Codierung > Byte 16 > Bit 7 - aktivieren
STG A5 > Codierung > Byte 00 > Bit 0 - aktivieren
STG A5 (Front-/Vorfeldkamera) auswählen
STG A5 Adapt.
Zugriffscode 20103 eingeben
- status enabling HCA -
STG F5
-umcodiert (ADP-(49)-Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2-LDW_HCA_0x19) von nicht aktiviert auf aktiviert
-umcodiert (ADP-(21)-Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_Lane_Departure_Warning) von nicht aktiviert auf aktiviert
-umcodiert (ADP-(23)-Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_Lane_Departure_Warning_over_threshold_high) von nicht aktiviert auf aktiviert
STG 44 > Codierung > Byte 3 > Bit 4 - aktivieren ("Spurhalteassistent HCA verbaut") -
STG 44 > Codierung > Byte 3 > Bit 0 - aktivieren
STG 10 - Park Assist > kodowanie > Byte 03 > Bit 5 - activ

Does ACC have a mind of its own. Occasionally if I have set it for low 60's it will all of a sudden change itself to 70. Also it will show a warning sometimes that I am exceeding the speed limit and wont let me set ACC to a higher speed even though I know it is a 70mph road.

That's putting it a bit strongly, but yes it does think that it knows better than you do.

Both my old Octavia VRS had the CC on the indicator stalk, which needed to have their contact boards cleaned about every 2-3 years. If your CC is on the indicator stalk it may be the same very quick and cheap fix. Use a fine flat edge or even your thumbnail to split the end of indicator stalk apart.  Pull the CC switch out, pull off the wiring connector, use a small torx screwdriver to undo the screws and a bit of circuit board cleaner or in my case, vodka, to clean the oxidation off the circuit board. Reassemble and it should work. Here's the link to a guide with photos. Look at post #2 by Mike Holdroyd from 9 April 2016.

And that says a lot about vodka! ;)

I did that part with cleaning that lever. Ok, there was black oily stuff, however still not working after assembling.

i have ni clue where to search issue now…all things which could be checked, were checked…

- lever with cleaning

- brake sensor

- ive checked if all buttons in that cc lever works (obd11 sees that while im clicking on it)

- max speed set up limit works perfectly, which means lever itself is working cause im using same buttons…however cc doesn’t.

well i think its about time just to accept that my cc wont work and i need to use my leg as a CC ;)

i have connected obd11 today and dig a bit in live data and coding...I found that part: "Activation Not codednot installed"

Does it mean that iCC has to be coded by skoda first?

Honestly reading through this thread... it sounds like youve changed a lot of things without being 100% what they do or what youre doing and you have along the way messed something up.

Did it work fine when you got the car? Any fault codes?
