My dsg gearbox is noisy? Skoda main dealer told me its a sealed for life gearbox? Do i need a new gearbox?

@Danz Welcome.    Dealership employees can be hopeless, who was this one, a salesperson, a parts or service or a workshop manager or even a tech?

You need to go to a Automatic Gearbox Specialist or a Tech or Mechanic that knows about DQ200 DSG's.

They can diagnose what the issue is, is it Clutch Pack, MCU / Mechatronic control unit, selector or something else.

The parts can be replaced, the 2 oils changed, or the DSG reset, or all of these can be done.

The Main Dealership employee will know nothing.   They say the DQ200 DSG is sealed for life as in there is no Service Regime / Schedule or Guidelines.

Yet Skoda changed oil in the World Wide Recall in 2012/13 & Service Campaign in Europe from 2014/

PS.

If you car is an early 2012 with a CAVE engine was the DSG given the Service Campaign '34F7'.?

There should be a Sticker in the spare tyre well if it was done shouwing '34F7 ' and a dealer stamp and date.

That would mean the Sealed for life DSG had the oil changed from Synthetic to mineral and a software update done.

If the car is a late 2012 with a CTHE engine it would not have got that.

If it was a 2013 car it might get '34H5' which was a Software Update.        No mater which it is it needs checked to see what the noise is now in 2021.

I would be worried if its making any metal on metal noises ,These boxes don't tend to make any noise even at high mileage. As for servicing....Its the owners choice, I've serviced mine, There's absolutely 0% harm in servicing it.
