Octavia 3 Cabin Air Filters

Featured Replies

I want to replace my Cabin filter on my MY19 Octavia 3 FL.

I think I've found the right part number, but I've also found another part number for what seems to be the same thing.

Part numbers 5Q0 819 653  and 5Q0 819 669.

Will these both fit the Octavia 3, and one has some sort of extra feature?

Yes either should fit. They both look the same in pics, possibly just different manufacturers.

I think they're both Skoda OEM part numbers.

There actually seems to be three different cabin filters you can get.

A plain dust filter, a filter with activated carbon, and a filter with carbon and antibacterial properties.

Not easy to determine which is which.

Yes they are Skoda part numbers but they are still made by Mann or Mahle or whoever.

I think, looking at the pictures again, the 653 is the activated carbon and the 669 with the yellow in it is the all singing antibac.

Good luck choosing!

I fitted a Mann Frecious Plus in both Octavia and Mrs Cubbington’s Smart Fortwo as I was getting fed up with the fumes from other cars (especially in the Smart).

They fit perfectly, and have pretty much eliminated the smell of fumes from other stinky vehicles!

This is the one you’re looking for:

https://catalog.mann-filter.com/EU/eng/catalog/MANN-FILTER Katalog Europa/Vehicles/CARS %2B TRANSPORTERS/SKODA/Octavia III/2.0 TDI ~ RS CUPA, CUNA, DJGA (T00000000332232)/Cabin Air Filter/FP 26 009

Hope that helps,

Nick

Behind the glovebox, Jim.

The red rings are around the tabs you need to lift to tilt the cover down and lift out out the locking tabs at the bottom.

Removing the glovebox isn't as difficult as everyone warns you it is.

It's just a bit fiddly to re-fit the damping lever.

The video I've linked to tells you all you need to know. (Taking the side panel off is easy enough if you have a spudger.)

Thanks for this, very helpful.  Can I just add a comment re the glovebox - when replacing it make sure the damping lever is fully extended, makes the job so much easier.
