Have you tried jacking each corner up and moving the tire while listening for any abnormal noises? For the idling noise, check under the bonnet with the engine on?

Could be a clutch or DMF issue, hopefully not.

DMF = dual mass flywheel, its a part of the DSG transmission that wears over time. There are videos and forum posts regarding signs of a failing DMF, I'm not an expert so I suggest you do a little googling.

Does the clutch slip at all? Everything normal when you put your foot down?

Probably not the transmission then. Honestly it could be almost anything so I cant really help you.

Thanks for ur help ps do u think it could be turbo

I think if it was the turbo it would be RPM dependent and not speed dependent. Have you tried manually shifting into different gears when you're going at the speed where you hear the noise?

If I had to guess I'd say its a bearing or something related to CV axles or suspension.

Mis fitted timing belt? or was it already making the noise before this was done. It's always worth checking anything recently done.

With your head under the bonnet at tick over can you tell where the metallic spinning noise is coming from? Front or rear of engine etc.

Thats been cheeked sounds like a bearing but garage is certain its not

Tried knocking it into neutral and coasting and noise is still there

Which noise is there when idling and stationary? Getting confused - two faults?

The bearings noise is between 50 and 60 and the metallic spinning is idle or reviving wen sat idle

1) For the metallic spinning at idle the I'd still suggest - "With your head under the bonnet at tick over can you tell where the metallic spinning noise is coming from? Front or rear of engine etc."

2) Re bearing noise - If tyres are new (bearing like noise common with certain tyre wear patterns common with the mkII) then bearings need checking. If bearing then noise usually gets worse with extra weight load such as cornering. Does it change as you steer to the right or left?

No no change and mechanic said he could feel any thing apart from tiny rugh feeling wenn run up to speed

The metallic noise is from back right of engine ifu are looking at it but can here it more from cabin
