Is my SLA working as it should?

Featured Replies

Hi, I bought a MY2017 Superb with SLA a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday I went driving at night so I could test out the lights.
In normal country roads the lights worked fine, the beam was being adjusted as cars went by. When I went on the motorway (120 km/h) I noticed that only the right side was in high beam and left side was in dipped beam, even though it was dark, no street lights on the motorway and no cars coming towards me.

Are these lights supposed to work like that or is there a fault?? I live in Finland so we drive on the right side and also it was raining so my wipers were on auto setting as well.

And cue the left/right settings debate to appear again...

I am sure that I read in the owners manual that if you have the wipers set to the auto rain setting in the info entertainment system then that disables the Adaptive Headlight Setting.

That may be the cause, try it again when it’s not raining, or turn the auto rain setting off.

Hope you get it sorted.

I also have a LHD MY2017. Do you know if your car had the front lights SW update?

I had this corrected in the beginning of my ownership, since the headlights settings were randomly good after lights « dance » upon engine start.

Since this time, they work correctly.

I don’t know of any updates but I tested these lights once more and they work as they should now that it wasn’t raining. And the motorway setting comes from the nav so if I take the sd card out, the lights perform the same as any other road.

Ours works perfectly as per the handbook.
