Vibration that starts at 2k revs and goes at 3k

Featured Replies

Hello folks,

I bought a 2016 Superb 1.6 TDI, all is well except for a buzzing vibration noise that seems to be resonating from the passenger side at 2k revs until about 3k. The sound is not always present but is there more often than not. I have read of similar issues on Octavias. It's quite annoying but I'm guessing it's not mechanical and just something loose getting annoyed at that particular frequency.

Has anyone experienced this and know of a fix? I tried recording the sound but my **** phone mic cannot pick up the sound too well however it is clearly audible.

Dual mass flywheel perhaps ?

Thought so too but I read that the 1.6 TDI is single mass. Not sure on this though. Clutch operation seems fine, no clunk on turning off ignition

I get something similar and when I get chance intend to look at what is described here:

I had a rattle in my passenger door which the local dealer sorted. It was, if I recall correctly, a drain tube inside the door which had come loose. They reattached it with some sealant and fixed it.
