Can only open boot by holding down middle button on fob

Featured Replies

Hi,

Recently found that the button (on the boot) to open the boot doesn't work.

Lock and unlock car, still can't open the boot.

When I PRESS the middle fob button (unlock boot only), I still can't open the boot.

When I keep my finger on the  middle fob button, the boot clicks open so I can open the boot (without me needing to press the button the boot)

Can you help me fault find?

Thanks

The fob sounds correct, I have to press and hold the middle button. I assume this is to avoid accidental presses. The car will lock itself if unlocked but not opened, whereas the boot cannot close itself.

The boot itself, the car does not have to be unlocked to operate it. Are you trying via Kessy, i.e. with the keys with you while standing pressing the boot button?

If yes, sounds like you have a fault on the car, as my boot works via Kessy and a boot button press, the car itself in this scenario does not unlock. Anti-hijack feature I imagine.

If the car is already unlocked, my boot will operate via the boot button even if I have popped the keys back into the house.

oh and p.s....

The boot just clicks unlocked for you but doesn't actually open by itself?
