KESSY locking doors when you get out.

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone has had a problem with KESSY locking the car when you close the door. On my 2020 SEL when I get out and close the drivers door (using either the window glass or black plastic trim) the doors lock without flashing the indicators or folding the mirrors (this doesn't happen every time, but is getting more frequent). I then can only open the car using the button on the fob as pulling the handle doesn't do anything. It done this last week when I got out the leaving the engine running while I put my nephew's wheelchair in the boot.

I've read on the Karla forum and have asked there if a solution has been found but thought I'd start a thread here incase anyone has come across the problem

Many thanks

Weird. I know there is a slam lock setting, which when activated does exactly what you describe. Did you buy the car new? I ask as I guess that could’ve been activated prior to your purchase.

PS - what’s the Karla forum?

Hi@numskull- I've had the car since 31/10/19 and it was brand new. It's worked without a problem upto this last couple of weeks, and as this problem is so sporadic, I doubt it's a setting for slam locks.

Isn't predictive text a pain in the a**e, it should have read "the Karoq forum"

Well that shot down that idea. Yes, predictable texture is a pain in the Netherland regions…

I presume you are using a phone.

I have never owned a smartphone so I may be talking out of turn here (and please forgive if I am)...but can you not turn off `Predictive Text`?

Also, you could read your words and correct any mistakes before you click `Send`...no?

I made-up that example of predictive text.
You can turn it off on an iPhone.

While editing any text, touch and hold the Next Keyboard, Emoji key or the Switch Keyboard key.

Tap Keyboard Settings, then turn off Predictive. No idea if you can do the same with a droid unit.

Did you get any further with finding a solution to your KESSY issue?

No, not yet, and typically it hasn't done it since I posted on here. On thing that has crossed my mind is that it's been cold and raining this last week whereas it was warm and sunny when the car was doing its "thing". I don't know if it's related but I'm trying to get photos or video of it happening to take to the dealer to show them exactly what happens - I'll update soon as I know anything

Bloody annoying.
