Octavia cut out!

Hey guys. Borrowed my dad’s Octavia 1.4 TSi DSG today - driving back home just now and the Traction light came on and the gear indicator on the instrument panel went off and I lost all gears. I went to accelerate and the engine just revved up like it was in neutral. I coasted to a stop and tried to restart but there was nothing when I turned the key. I did hear the fuel pump prime up so I can rule that out. It’s been running fine all day and I did about 40 miles before this happened. It’s done 101k all told. Any ideas on to what it could be?
