Further to my thread below re windscreen.

Having now had the windsceen fitted to the car, we have found in taking the old one out that the almost total bottom rail where the windsceen meets the body has rotted away, we have today exhaustively searched all panel suppliers and can not find a replacement panel listed anywhere for it so have been forced to replace the screen as is [with a coupius amount of screen sealer],.

My question now is .

Does anyone know of a suppliers of such a part, or deos anyone know of a remedy to it ?.

The fitters opinion seems to be that the screen must have been leaking almost since the car was new to of caused this much destruction, in this space of time with no alternative he refiotted it assuring us 90% that the screen would in fact seal again and not let any water in from now on, with the shape and design of the lower rail it would be nearly impossible to fabricate a rail for it as it would require to be exactly correct to enable the screen to seal properly onto it.

Just another little Skoda fouble i suppose something we have come to expect now, however one that really shouldnt be happening to a car of this age its only 8 years old after all, who knows maybe their newer cars dont have this problem but i would suggest strongly that all windscreens are checked to see if in fact they have any sealer on them as this was built CLEARLY without the use of any sealer whats o ever.:thumbdwn: :thumbdwn: :thumbdwn:

i purchased a felicia t reg 1999 , 8 months ago i had problems, i found water leaking through front screen area after several attempts i managed to seal it with halfords windscreen sealer, these cars i am told leave the factory with no sealant , i think this is a blunder as problems are found later . complain to skoda i say . its just not good enough .
