12v “cigarette lighter” socket not working.

Featured Replies

The one in the front stopped working a while back but the one in the back continued to be ok.

Now the one in the back has stopped.

I was wondering if there is a fuse somewhere that has blown.

Any ideas

Thanks.

Yes there is a fuse in the cabin fuse box, which is on the left side of the dash. Open the LH door and you can see the cover. Pop it open and check the inside of the cover for a fuse diagram.

Thanks Fin.

I’ll have a look later on.

Assuming it is a fuse that has blown, what do you think would have caused that?

In theory it could be caused by plugging in a device drawing too much power. More likely a faulty device.

Thanks again.

The only thing I’ve plugged in is my phone to charge it.

Could be just a fluke :)

Up date…..

it’s all sorted.

The fuse box wasn’t on the LHS, It was on the drivers side. The diagram was confusing as it was a mirror image of what was in the car.

Bought a twin pack of fuses £1.75.

If I’d taken it to a garage they would have charged me£50 so I owe you a pint,  Finn

Splendid :)

Btw, left side IS the driver's side! Jokes aside, it's easy to forget there are a lot of people from the UK, here in Finland we drive on the correct side.
