I broke my fob but luckily I have the spare but is there any way I could open the door and maybe drive the car with just the key part of the fob ?

No you will need the transponder inside the case to start he car.

We had a remote control key brake for an old Seat Ibiza. It was basically the same type of key and we got the electronics/immobiliser transponder transferred into a new housing with a newly cut key at Timpsons. I don't think all branches do this service, so it's worth phoning ahead or checking on their website.
