Voice activation for Apple CarPlay stopped working since IOS 15 update

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue

Since updating my phone to IOS 15 I have had some CarPlay issues

When I hold the voice activation button on the steering wheel it no longer does anything in Carplay. The Apple CarPlay screen on the dashboard comes on but nothing happens in CarPlay

If I launch a voice prompt from CarPlay, like using voice to input an address in Google Maps the system cannot hear me

I can respond to text messages by voice like before but the little swirly Siri icon no longer appears on screen and the Siri voice sounds like a 1990s computer generated voice now, instead of the more lifelike voice it usually has

Handsfree still works fine, I can make and receive calls through Carplay using the touch screen

Everything in the car is fully updated with the latest firmware etc and it all worked perfectly before the IOS update, just wondering if anyone else has seen this?
