Bolero BT, and a dealer laugh

Featured Replies

So I ring my local dealer to ask what BT unit will fit my 2010 L&K, because it doesn't have one, and the icons are greyed out, so my thinking is, it must be possible.

The parts guy speaks to the master tech, who says it can't be done, and the only way around it, is to fit an aftermarket system.

So if the dealer doesn't know, then there is no hope in the world.......

I am glad he's not a brain surgeon.

I had a vRS in 2009 and retrofitted a BT unit into the quadlock behind the headunit so it is possible.

The aftermarket unit may well be a better suggestion though as then you could get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay too.

A suitable bluetooth module can usually be had for about 60 to 80 gbp second hand on ebay. But as @john999boy says it won't give you anything more than bt audio streaming and hands free. Both those are pretty useful though.

Hi All

I have a Bolero head unit and I'm looking for a DAB upgrade and BT capability - the only services I listen to are Talksport and the MW reception is full of distortion.

If it helps, my phone is android.

Can anybody recommend a solution that is practical - Ideally something that is, or that looks like a stock front unit - no silly lights or chrome or other such nonsense.

All (serious) suggestions appreciated.

TIA
