DSG OIL 2011 VRS

Featured Replies

Hi Chaps,

Been trying to find a gap of time to service the car for the 1st time since I got it and had an hour today.

Did not want to jack the car up to get under for the oil change so just drove onto a couple of positioned blocks to give enough room to get under to the drain plug. I stupidly undone the DSG plug and (even though something was telling me it's weird having an allen bolt instead of the normal 13mm bolt) I only realised when I noticed only 1.25 litres of really clean oil came out. I thought this is the cleanest oil I've seen and why is there only this much. 🤦🏿

Checked the oil still the same, Jacked the car up see the oil plug smiling at me 🤦🏿. What a numpty!!!

Anyway can anybody tell me what the oil is that is needed for the DSG and what the adapter tool is called to screw onto the DSG plug to refill it? Going by the previous service record it has not been changed before but the car runs fine. The car is on 60, 000 miles with the last service at 54 000.

Thanks

The oil will have been changed if the 34f7 sticker is in the spare tyre well showing the Service campaign done.  That was since 2014.   Look in the Mk3 section and the Famous dq200 clutch slip thread.

shows the DSG oil change.  And oil spec.  There is 2 oils. One in the box and then the MCU.    Bumped it for you in the Mk3 section.

Someone might do a Guide. Or watch on YouTube.

Thanks I will look.

All I really want to do is refill it as I only took out the little bit from the 1st plug.

"4987 ATF" is the tool your looking for mate and you'll need a syphon/pump, It can be syringed in but takes forever. You've emptied the gearbox oil which is 1.7 litres of "G 052 171", The mechatronic sump is a spline style bolt and requires 1 litre of "G 004 000" if you wish to change that too.

Not a hard job to be honest, I done mine at 50k.

I have the exact amount as I have it in a bottle so I just want to replace itI cannot see the sticker etc. in the boot or if there is one as the boot and wheel well has been covered with sound deadening etc. with an audio install.

I have called Skoda UK and asked them if it has been done they do not seem to think it has to be done and cannot find any history of it needing being done. I am currently on hold to them right now as I am typing as they are trying to find out which oil it should be. It's rather painful as first the guy told me it should be Castrol 5w30 🤔. I said that sounds like engine oil to me. He's gone off to find out from someone else

See my post above, Skoda are useless........They'll either tell you nonsense, charge you a fortune  or have you going round in circles.

God knows what they mean by the 75w. No worries at all mate, Just don't let them sell you anything else now!😄

Skoda UK should certainly know if your car was in for 34F7 so the oil changed and the software update sometime from early 2014.

Or if it was one they oddly said was not part of the Service Campaign.

Some people just never had it done.

It used to not appear on here then it did start to if outstanding.

All done thank you guys.

The only.proble..I had was the VW tool I got to screw into the bottom of the oil pan was M24 thread the actual one needed was M22 so I had to go to a local hose place to get one made up with a coupler and nipple.
