DSG advice

Featured Replies

this is my first ever auto after only having manual cars for 30 years

is there any cast iron dos and donts that I have yet to uncover for the dsg box in the vrs?

I find auto hold great except when it comes to getting on and off my drive where stopping the car enabler auto hold and making it go again causes just that little jump forward or back and its a tight space backing out and people are either side of may gates

is ok just to manouver using the low speed creep it has with auto hold turned off?

It’s fine to turn the autohold off if you require, but if you feather the brake pedal you’ll learn to use the brake without the autohold cutting in when it’s switched on, allowing small movements to be made without having to touch the accelerator.

So I only recently found out after a year of owning a car with DSG that when you're slowing down, instead of having to click the paddle down each gear you can just hold the down shift paddle and it drops to the best gear to help you decelerate. Maybe I should have read the manual 🤣

Not on steep or variable inclines/descents.
