Finally it's gone
Not sure 'Rear Tyres Heavily Stepped' is a Skoda issue, I have had it on a couple of cars, 911 and Golf. Both turned out to be the tyre make and model, some are prone to it, infact one in particular is renound for it!

I am looking a getting a new Fabia 1.5 Monte Carlo Edition thoughts and concerns please?
Hi as it says, I am looking at getting my wife a new Fabia 1.5 Monte Carlo Edition with a few extras (Adaptive Cruise, Winter pack, charging pack). I am keen to hear of any pros or cons to the car before I decide. I have had many Octavias and currently a Mk4 so i know about software issues with that!! I dont know anything about the 1.5 engine, I have always had VAG diesels so keen to know about issues/performance and reliability. I was looking at a Kamiq, but the Fabia seemed cheaper for a similar car, anyone with similar dilema? Thanks. Steve.

2020 (70 plate) Octavia worn out suspenion already?!?!
Mine is 32K miles on a 70 plate SEL estate. No issues at all, passed the last service with no suspension issues, sounds very odd to me. Previous owner liked speeding over speed bumps?!?

Diesel Engie question
No need at all, advice used to be on all Turbo cars that its good for the Turbo Charger to drive a bit more gently at the end and begining of a journey to allow it to heat up (start) and cool down (end) if you have been driving hard. If the car is too hot the fan will keep running after you stop on the the Octavia.

DSG recall !!!
Same, just checked mine is due a recall, but I have not been informed by Skoda.

diesel volume
Mine is fine, and tbh I dont really notice the engine noise, it definately is not like the old diesels. When driving you cant really tell the difference as other noises are louder. Unless you particularly dislike a diesel engine noise, i would not worry about it. The only time I notice it is when the gearbox holds the revs when cold too long but thats just because it goes a bit mad occaisionaly, not a real issue. When stopped the engine shuts down so no noise.

Flashing Fuel and Temp Gauges
Hi, a new one for my car, but just seeing if anyone else had had both their Temp and Fuel gauge flash during driving? I noticed it happening at the back end of a 2 hour drive, both the Temp on the left and Fuel on the right started flashing irregularly, then stopped flashing then started again, happened for about 10 mins, all fine since, but no idea why it happened. Main part of the dash was fine with no flashes at all. Possibly just another 'feature' of the electronics!

Lane assist - does anyone actually like it?
The ACC Radar should detect where the car is ahead, ahead, left or right of you, and then it can work it out from that.. or not as was the problem with ACC prior to the software fix when it kept thinking it was in Europe and slammed the brakes on when legally overtaking in the UK on dual carriageways!!

DSG slight delay
I have always had the 'lag' on my car. If I get to a busy junction I just pop it into Sport and that seems to remove it and pulling away is less stressful!

Popping then sos down. Any fix?
Not sure how the warranty has expired? My 70 Plate is under warranty until Nov, so 21 plate should be Mar next year.....

Problems with AdBlue?
Mine has AdBlue, I think it came with the Mk4, my older Mk3 facelift didn't have it. I have had no issues at all with it, filled it up a couple of times no problems so far. Range is very good when full, especially if you do reasonably long journeys, where it uses very little.

How reliable is the 2.0TDi 150?
I think its a great engine, especially with DSG. Great economy (circa 70mpg easily on sensible driving on steady runs) pulls well, AdBlue not an issue for me, topped it up once and no issues. Software, as with all Mk4 Octavia's, is the main issue but if it has 1941 you should be in a good place as its fixed most of the issues. I agree on the extended warranty, they did a £35 a month deal for me (mine is getting to the 3 year point) for 2 years and also includes two services and MoTs, plus usual breakdown and recovery, so basically £840 for two years, a no brainer for me as I will now be keeping it.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Local dealer updated the car to 1941 at the service last week, I had to ask for them to do it and tell them what was wrong but at least they did it!

Service
I have had Skoda dealers trying to book my car in for its 10000/ 1 year service for the last year. After getting fed up with emails and phone calls I rang my local dealer and explained the car is happy and it does not need a service for another year (time and mileage around 2 years after last service). They said it should be 1 year so i got them to check when the last service was. Long story short they came back and appologised and said yes the car is right it is on the variable service schedule so book when the car says so. I still get emails telling me I am late for a service but ignore them. I think its more about touting for more work than the car needing anything (apart from software updates 😒) .
