Featured Replies

Dear all,

Can somebody explain what exactly is the below diagnostic error identified today after checking my car:

Car Scanner ELM OBD2 DTC report Selected brand: Skoda VIN:  ============1============== 66052 Raw code: 010204 ECU: 19. CAN Gateway[Archive (inactive)] Status: Confirmed Skoda: U006500: Vehicle Communication Bus E Performance Status bits: 1 Priority: 2 Frequency: 167 Unlearning index: 60 Odometer: 43735 km Date, time: 2021.10.18 08:23:20

No power to the main CAN gateway??....ignition switched off???

Dear Fabdavrav,

I do not know to be honest what has happened, but I do not remember facing any problem recently with the car (apart from that with the air recirculation flap motor that I have posted separately).

Moreover, no any warning light switched on.

Can you pls advise me further because I am not familiar with these fault codes (the diagnostic tool was not mine)?

The fact that the fault code reader states that the CAN gateway module was "inactive" I suspect that the ignition was switched off...or the CAN gateway module is faulty..

I don't think the CAN gateway was inactive... If it was you wouldn't be able to read any codes from it and the car would have loads of waring lights/errors showing.

It's more likely to be an intermittent fault so when the scan was done, it saying the fault has happened previously but is currently fine. Therefore it's reporting the fault as 'inactive'.

I think VCDS would report this as:

66052 - Infotainment CAN Bus (SAE Bus E)
          U0065 00 [008] - Performance
          [Globaler Timeout CAN-Infotainment]
Intermittent - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

Which suggests a module on the infotainment CAN bus wasn't happy for some reason, that could be a wiring issue, loose connector or even a failing module. I'd probably clear the code and see if it comes back :)

Mabye you are right, since I have replaced my infotainment system with an OEM (Digital-IQ), so there might be some communication error.

Anyway, thanks for your assistance.

I understand that VCDS readout no problems...😎.....infotainment unit has an intermittent fault, which has not occurred since last tested...
