Limp mode when climbing hills + OBD Codes...

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have a 59 plate 2.0 Tdi Octavia 2 with BKD engine  with 116,000 miles recorded

When pressing car uphill 2.5K + rpm car experiences a sudden loss of power and goes into limp mode. Switching the ignition off for a few seconds restores the power. This sounds like other posts with vnt issues.  Is there any way I can confirm this at home so I can make a decision on the car's future?

Car is used around town during the week with periodic long journeys at weekends. Apart from the Mr Muscle cleaning trick is there anything else that can be done to resolve?

I regularly read 2 OBD codes from engine  05656 and 00564 using a supposedly VAG code reader, but I can't find them listed anywhere.

Car recently lost all power traced to a stuck open egr valve, which was resolved by a good clean out.

Also now the cool weather has set in I've noticed the heater isn't blowing out warm air, its aired at best, is this something separate or connecte to a? (I've followed the You-Tube instructions in resetting the climatronic flaps)

Regards,
