Firmware Amunsden+ RS315 And Map Updates

Featured Replies

I’ve recently bought an SD card with maps update v12… before I commit:

I’m currently running Amunsden+ RS315 firmware version 0407 with maps version EUR_W_V4

should I be updating the firmware first? If so, where can I get hold of firmware updates?

I read on other forums that newer map updates are unstable on earlier firmware versions  (this was maps v10 in 2029)

this is installed in a 2013 Skoda Yeti Adventure

Time traveller?
If you've got the SD card equipped unit you don't need to buy a newer card, you just download the newer maps onto the old card.

Sorry Graham, that is not an option, you do need to buy the sd card update!!

I must be getting confused about which Amundsen is which, then.
I know that on my 2015 model with an SD card I could just download the new maps.

but was it an amundsen + or a later model?

Amundsen+ as Amundsen II was not fitted until post October 2014.

Yes, the Amunsden + and earlier models don’t have the lifetime of free updates.

Yeti’s were fitted with the newer interfaces with the make over in 2014.

we’re stuck with buying SD cards with these early Yeti’s - I had to check it would work before trying as I’ve had no end of badluck with my Yeti - clutch boring a hole into the gearbox, rust spots in the doors, door seals rotting, and the drivers airbag squib ring. Always passes it’s MOT though 👍🏼

wouldn’t be surprised if it either a) doesn’t work and I never have navigation maps again b) works, but is for Australia c) immobilises the car indefinitely 🤪

Well - we’ve begun! 🎉

reassuring start… not sure if the car should be running 🤨 - but have turned off daylights and just left the keys in the car 🤷‍♂️

Fingers crossed it’s not pinched 😉

(Recap, This is a 2013 Skoda yeti adventure updating from maps v04 to v12 on an Amunsden+ RS315 Running firmware 0407) - sd card map purchased from eBay 🤦🏼‍♂️

should be fine, think it took about 2 hours on mine!

I've recently installed V12 in my RNS315. You can take the key out and then it will continue where it left off when you put the key back in to turn it on.

Over 2hrs - but signs look promising!…

Had read that saved destinations need re-entering, but apart from that all seems to be working!… hopefully updated road layouts 🤞 Will the A14 exist?!?…

Yes about 2 hours, My saved destinations were unaffected and working as before.

Though it wasn't like that when I updated from V4 to V9 they were still listed but wouldn't plan any routes.
