Locking wheel key and bolts

Featured Replies

Off to the stealers tomorrow to order a new locking wheel bolt for my 2010 L&K, as one is a bit suspect and I don't want any further drama. Belt and braces and all that.

Are they all a standard fit, or will the local stealer need to see my locking key?

Don't bother with lockers.

On both of my Skoda's I have replaced them with normal wheel bolts and the plastic bolt covers.

Nothing to loose or break then.

Part numbers:-

WHT004899 for the Wheel Bolt

321601173BZ37 for the covers. But they come in several colours.

Thanks, AG Falco

OEM lock nuts are only sold in sets of 4, one for each wheel. The set also comes with a key. I know this because when I bought mine it had lock nuts but no key.

OEM bolts generally have the key number/letter on the corresponding nut.

It won't hurt to take it along but I'd phone first as it may need to be ordered. 👍

So off we got to the local stealers, and I describe my plight to the young man in the parts department, and he says that they cannot order one single locking bolt, as they come in a set, at over £50 plus vat, so I buy a standard one instead. I can get a full set off Amazon for under a tenner, but then lo and behold, and for some unknow reason, my locking one with silver cap turns up at the place where I work!!!! Oddly I have never taken it off, so I can only assume it was when the car had 4 new tyres on it just before I bought it, and it wasn't tightened properly.
