Pre FL 2.0 TFSi Turbo bypass valve - Fault Code - Help!

Hi all, 

My trusty '06 VRS estate has just been in for its MOT and service, I've had an engine management light on which I knew was the Evap valve needed replacing, however, when the garage checked the fault codes I also have one for a turbo issue.

The code is P2261, the fault location description is 'Turbocharger (TC) bypass valve/supercharger bypass valve' the problem cause is 'Mechanical fault'.

I know from the forums that the turbo bypass valve on the TFSi's is a known weak point, I'm hoping that the code and the fact it is specifically flagging the bypass valve means its not the turbo itself. 

Has anyone else had this specific code? I haven't noticed any discernible drop in performance, albeit the car might not be quite as responsive from low revs as it once was. No smoke and car seems to be fine on boost.
